Shoulder pain is a common issue that can arise from various causes such as injurymuscle strains, overuse, or joint instability.

It's a problem that can significantly affect daily activities, making simple tasks like reaching overhead or behind your back painful and challenging.

For many adults, particularly those with active lifestyles or physically demanding jobs, shoulder pain can be a source of constant frustration.

While conventional medical treatments often focus on symptom management with medications or exercises, they sometimes fail to provide lasting relief.

Gentle Stretching

Physiotherapists can provide a list of gentle targeted exercises that are designed to try and keep the shoulder as mobile as possible. To get the best from these, sufferers should make sure they carry out the stretches regularly as directed, but they may not fully restore shoulder mobility even if followed properly.

Heat Application

Applying heat - maybe using a wheat bag or a sticky heat patch - can provide temporary comfort but doesn't resolve the underlying stiffness.

Medication
Offers short-term relief but doesn't aid in restoring movement. Some doctors will use steroid injections, which can help in some cases but have the side effect of damaging the surrounding tendons, possibly leading to problems further down the line. Interesting, HRT (if the sufferer is going through the peri-menopause or menopause) can help in some cases.
