Understanding tendonitis

Tendonitis: Issues with the tendon tissues

Tendonitis is the inflammation of a tendon, causing pain and tenderness near a joint.

This condition can affect various parts of the body and is often a result of overuse or repetitive motion.

For athletes, active adults and those in physically demanding jobs, tendonitis can be a significant hindrance, making movement both slow and painful.

Medical approaches typically focus on managing pain and inflammation but can be slow to provide complete relief.

Rest and Ice Application

This very traditional advice is still followed, but as tendons can have poor or limited blood flow at the best of time, icing can slow healing in some cases.

Resting can reduce pain, but it is likely to return when the tendon is moved or irritated again, which can be an issue for those who need to be active due to work or family commitments.

Compression and Elevation

Using compression garments or bandages on the affected area can help reduce swelling and offer mild support, but won't necessarily speed up the healing. Elevating the affected area can also reduce the swelling, but it will also reduce blood flow, which can actually slow healing.

Anti-inflammatory Medication
Over the counter anti-inflammatories can offer temporary pain relief, but long term use isn't ideal due to their side effects that can come with prolonged or heavy use.

For many people, approaching tendonitis with home treatment in the first instance makes a lot of sense; sometimes this can make the condition manageable.

But if your life is being slowed down by tendonitis, it’s time to consider a more professional, comprehensive approach.

My treatment plans, incorporating specific massage techniques and RAPID NeuroFascial Reset, can help reduce inflammation and promote healing more effectively than home remedies.

I know it's difficult to know who to trust.
So here's what my clients say about me.

I had contacted Melody because I had neck pain then had appointment, we discuss all details where my necks have started hurt.. then she gave my neck a deep muscle massage and in end it was worth and my neck isn’t in pain anymore!

Highly recommending Melody!
